The Court of Appeal sitting in Markudi, Benue State has dismissed the appeal filed by Michael Abdul, challenging the ruling of the Tribunal which upheld the election of Godiya Akwashiki (APC) as Senator representing Nasarawa North district.

One of the counsels to Senator Godiya Akwashiki, Dr. Mubarak Tijani Adekilekun, confirmed that the case has come to conclusion at the Court of Appeal in Makurdi.

Dr. Mubarak Tijani Adekilekun said the court has dismissed the appeal filed by Mr. Abdul, who was a Banker and former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa state;  for lack of merit.

He added that the case was dismissed with a cost of N200,000 awarded by the court against Mr. Abdul.

In his remarks, counsel to Mike-Abdul, Barrister John Matthew, who described the ruling as the final court this matter could go, said even though their camp is not happy with the judgement, they have to rest their case.
