Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, of Kaduna State, on Monday, visited the site visit to the African Natural Resources and Mines of $600 million integrated iron ore mining processing and steel production company situated at Gujeni, Kagarko Local Government of
The Governor, together with government officials were at the site to inspect the ongoing work of Afri Steel, Indian Nigeria company, already mobilised prospecting for iron ore for conversion into steel.
Governor el-Rufai went round the site, inspecting various projects manned at the site, he was excited, despite the heavy downpour of rain, he went ahead to see the level of work done for himself.
It would be recalled that, last week Friday, Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, disclosed that, Kaduna State will be the first State to produce steel from iron ore, when he received the Emir of Kagarko, HRH, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, together with members of his Emirates.
He explained that, a company of steel being the first company to produce steer from iron ore, they have being trying to produce steel from Ajaokuta for the past fifty years without success.
“I am very happy to tell Nigerians that Kaduna State will be be the first State to produce steel from iron ore in Gujeni Kagarko Local Government Area of the State”.
Speaking on the resources, “It is six hundred million dollars investments, the money has already been secured, the State is committed and have started construction”, he stressed.
el-Rufai assured that, “by the Grace of God it will be completed in December 2020, Nigeria steel will come out from that Plant in 2020”, he said.
“On completions, it will employ about 3,500 Nigerians, it is a landmarks achievements, it is the largest single investments that have come into the state in the last five years”, he added.
