Minister Of Power Commissions Upgraded ABU 33/11KVA Substation


The Minister of Power, Engineer Sale Mamman has commissioned the upgrade to 33/11kv substation from 1×7.5 MVA to 2×7.5MVA at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
Speaking at the commissioning, the minister said it is their expectations that with the completion of the strategic project and its completion will greatly restore and improve power supply to the university.
He said, they rely on the university’s management to ensure that the facility is well maintained and electricity bills are paid as at when due.
Engr. Mamman also implored that Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company operates and maintains the facility with the highest standard of practice and ensure its optimal utilization and that power supply to the university is stable, reliable and sufficient.
According to the minister, the university requested for intervention from the Ministry of Power for the upgrade and strengthening of the existing infrastructure and restoration of stable reliable power supply.
He said, ABU is an institution that does not require any introduction as far as Nigeria, Africa and indeed the whole world is concerned.
“It is an icon known for it’s academic excellence and research in almost all endeavors of human activities”.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Professor Ibrahim Garba has said since the assumption of the President Muhammadu Buhari in office a lot of intervention has come to the University such as the ministry of power.
Prof. Garba added that the project is fast growing place as an Institution that accommodate every Nigerian.
The Vice Chancellor said the University will still look for more from the Minister of Power.
