Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, of Kaduna State, on Friday, said that arrangements have been concluded with the World Bank towards building a boarding secondary school that will enable girls to enrol.
The State Governor, made this known when APC Gida-Gida, one of the major APC Support Groups, who came on a courtesy visit to Government House, in Kaduna.
Governor el-Rufai, stressed the need for the girl child to be in school, he said, “most of our young girls drop out from school in their Junior Secondary School (JSS) for marriage while others do not have the privilege of going to school at all.
He explained that, with the building of boarding secondary school, the girl child will be able to face her education, with less distractions from her studies.
“Our female children have their good potentials that they can contribute to the society.”
The Governor, appreciated their efforts on thank you visit to the people of the state.
He said, “we have promised the people towards putting them first, we would surely work hard to meet with the needs of the society,” he noted.
“We are taking our time to work on modalities of moving the state forward.
“I urge everyone to be patient as the state government is doing its best to put smiles on the people,” he said.
In her remarks, the All Progressive Congress (APC), Gida-Gida, brainchild, the wife of the Governor, Hajiya Aisha Ummi el-Rufai, said they were in Government House to congratulate the Governor on his victory during the last election.
Ummi, said they worked vigorously during and after the election.
“We are going from house to house to thank everyone for voting our party for second term,” she said.
She noted that their visit to communities has made the people to express their minds.
“We hear their views and their challenges,” she explained.
