National Association Of Patriotic Citizens (NAPAC) has called on the federal and states governments to include traditional rulers in the fight against insecurity and other criminal activities in Nigeria.

The association made the call in a statement signed by its Chairman, Malam Abubakar Haruna Danladi at the end of its stakeholders  meeting held in Kano on Wednesday, assuring that engaging the traditional rulers in the fight against crimes will bring positive changes in the restoration of peace and progress of this great country.

The statement further lamented that  before the intervention of the western nations into African countries, traditional institutions played an important role in maintaining peaceful co-existence between the government and the people as witnessed in the past, where the association opined that Nigerian traditional rulers can assist in bringing peace and progress if given the full mandate.

In conclusion, NAPAC commended President Muhammadu  Buhari for his efforts towards the development of Nigeria and called on states governors especially where the issue of  insecurity reigns  to  co-opt their traditional rulers in the fight against insurgency for the progress of their regions.
