A member of Vigilante group of Nigeria (VGN), and the organisation’s intelligence officer, Muktar Abdullahi Ungogo has called on the federal government to include the members of the group into the fight against crime in Nigeria because the local vigilantes know every nooks and corners of their localities.

He made the request in an interview with our correspondent in Kano, adding that Vigilante Group of Nigeria popularly known as VGN can make commendable contribution in the fight against crime in this country, especially if given special training by the Nigerian army.

Muktar Ungogo explained that VGN was established to give assistance to the security agencies, and it is the only voluntary security organisation that exists to work selflessly for the protection of the lives and property of the Nigerian citizens.

He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the VGN Bill into law in order to promote peace and unity in Nigeria as seen at present.

Malam Muktar Abdullahi Ungogo assured that, ” if we are given  training by the Nigerian Army, we can assist in getting rid of crime and criminal activities because we know how to tackle crime at both rural and urban areas”.
