Activities ongoing in Kano as commercial vehicle drivers suspended the strike they started on Monday over what they called” harassment by officers of Kano Roads Transport Agency popularly known as KAROTA.

Our correspondent who monitored the vehicular movements in the city and other areas close to the metropolis reported that there is  free movement by motorists and other road users, while the men of KAROTA were seen everywhere controlling traffic.

Similarly, new Nigerian gathered that the Monday’s strike was in line with the change of leadership at the state’s roads traffic agency, where the new agency’s chairman, Baffa Babba Dan Agundi threatened to deal with whoever violates road traffic laws and regulations in Kano.

Malam Aliyu a commercial bus driver said that ” We are not happy with how KAROTA people harass us and they only embarrass drivers to get money by claiming to take us to their main office for big fine, I am appealing to Kano Governor to re-structure the agency’s services to maintain Kano’s commercial activities”. He concluded.
