Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has sworn in, Mr Ahmad El-Marzuq, the re-appointed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice for second time.he was the only Commissioner so far appointed by the Masari’s administration.
The swearing-in ceremony which took place at Government House Chamber attracted the state Chief Judge, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar,the state Grand Khadi Alhafiz Mika’ilu Abubakar and Executives of the branch of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) with several Lawyers.
Shortly after administering oath of office and oath of allegiance, Governor Bello Masari said the Attorney General need not to be reminded of his responsibility as the Oath contained everything, saying that El-Marzuq was reappointed based on his track record of service.
“It is during his tenure as state’s Attorney General that the state produced the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mrs Safiya Badamasi. She is the first SAN in the whole North West and we are grateful for the contributions he rendered to our dear state, we need to pray for him to succeed,” he said.
In his remarks, El-Marzuq solicited for the continuous support of staff of the ministry for quick dispensation of justice in the state.
He assured people that he would continue to join hands with staff of the ministry to move the state forward.
El-Marzuq was born in 1962 in Daura and had his primary school education between 1969 and 1975.
El-marzuq completed his secondary school education in Barewa College, Zaria, in 1980 and proceeded to Bayero University, Kano, where he obtained his LLB degree in 1985, and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1986.
