The wife of Zamfara State Governor, Hajia Aisha Bello Mohammed has cautioned intending pilgrims from the state against conveying illicit drugs to the Holy land.
The governor’s wife gave the warning on Saturday in Gusau at a sensitization programme organised for intending pilgrims for the 2019 Hajj to Mekkah.
Aisha warned the intending to guide against the carrying of dangerous drugs to the Holy land as it carries death penalty in Saudi Arabia.
“My sisters please make sure you guide your luggage especially at the airport, don’t allow someone to implicate you by dropping illicit drugs into your bag because if you are caught, the punishment is severe”, she warned.
She also warned them against bad behavior while in the the Holy land as such would not only bring disgrace to the state’s pilgrims but the entire womanhood.
“While in the Holy land behave well to show that you are good Muslims and good ambassadors of women and the country”, she advised.
The Zamfara first lady called on the female intending pilgrims to pray for security and sustainable peace in Zamfara and Nigeria.
“Pray for the end of banditry and other forms of criminality while performing your Hajj. We need security to enable us achieve our full potentials as women”, she said.
Pilgrims from Zamfara State will begin to fly to Makkah on Monday 17th July.
