Alhaji Aliyu Ndanusa, the Taraba Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Monday urged the warring factions in the various violent clashes in the state to eschew violence and embrace peace for accelerated development.
Ndanusa told the Newsmen in Jalingo that though the command had deployed security to the troubled spots across the state, there was need for the people to sheath their swords for lasting peace.
“All over the world, peaceful coexistence is the foundation for development.
“While NSCDC and sister security agencies are working hard to restore peace, I want to appeal to the warring factions in the crisis to give peace a chance for development,” he said.
Ndanusa commanded Gov Darius Ishaku of Taraba for the enabling environment provided for the security operatives to carry out their duties for a better state.
The latest crisis in communities in Ardo Kola and Jalingo led to a curfew on Jalingo which is currently running from 6: 00 pm to 6:00 am daily.
There is still some pockets of crisis between Jukun and Tiv in southern Taraba which had linger for more than two months.
