A coalition of 30 political parties in Bauchi State has accused APC National chairman, Adams Oshiomhole of causing confusion in the leadership of the party in the state by meddling in its affairs.
The coalition under the aegis of Progressive Political Parties said Oshiomhole should first resolve the political crisis of his home state of Edo, rather than interfering in the party affairs of Bauchi state.
Led by Bauchi state GPN chairman, Sani Mohammed Burra at a press conference in Bauchi Monday, the coalition condemned Oshiomhole for describing the emergence of Abubakar Yakubu Suleiman as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly as an illegality.
Burra said, “As critical stakeholders in Bauchi state politics, we are calling on the APC National Chairman to take his eyes, attention and unsolicited concern off Bauchi state. What we are after now is the development of the state, and not party politics”.
Burra, a former lawmaker in the state, observed that the position of the APC National chairman was meant to prevent smooth governance in Bauchi, hence the need for Oshiomhole to stop meddling in the affairs of House of Assembly.
Hon. Sani Burra therefore advised Adams Oshiomhole to first resolve the crisis in his home state, rather than interfering in the business of other states.
He positioned, “Thirteen members of the Bauchi House of Assembly elected the Speaker on the floor of the House with the Mace, Clerk and Staff, but unfortunately another faction of the APC who are House members came from their hideout and paraded another person as Speaker”.
According to him, the crack faction conducted themselves in an uncivilized manner contrary to the laid down rules and guidelines of the House, and is likely to cause trouble.
