As Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa progresses in the appointment of efficient, articulate and progressive-minded persons into the State Execitive Council and have started to roll out time-tested appointees from his black-box into his cabinet, the leader, Not Too Young To Lead, Mr Elvis Akpobi, has assured youths in the state that the governor would not neglect them.
Akpobi, popularly addressed as Hon. Major, by his admirers described the state governor as a “youth friendly governor”, who gave opportunities to young individuals in his first tenure.
Speaking exclusively with the New Nigerian Newspaper in Asaba, recently, the group leader, a young dynamic and innovative captain of the group disclosed that about 80 per cent of youths in the state worked tirelessly to see that Okowa emerged the state governor in the just concluded governorship election.
Asked if the state governor would give priority to youths in the ongoing appointment,  he said “For me, I keep saying it without fear or favour, Delta state is blessed with a grass root leader. I call him a youth friendly governor. Not because I want to be psychophantic. If you see his first tenure, he gave young persons the privilege to serve. His first tenure saw the youngest aide to the governor, Ossai Ovie, he has shown capacity and is doing very well”.

He also seized the avenue to lash out on youths given the privilege to serve but failed.

Hear him: I” still will not fail to say there were some young persons who were given privilege to serve but they lived below expectation. Because we had a lot of SA youth development who never developed one person. But there are a lot of young persons who did very well. It is not about money”.

According to him, “This second term, even a blind person knows that this election that passed, the youths did 80percent of the job. Not because of money but because we believe in the man the governor.

“He is a listener, a governor that if you send him text, he will respond immediately. He is someone that tell you I want to do this thing, you go and sleep, he will do it for you. He promised us young persons that since we worked with him, we believed in him, he wont fail us in this second term.

“So, we are very positive. If you check the engine room of the government, he is a young man with content. Yesterday, when they read his profile and when he spoke, I was impressed. I moved to think of developing myself for the task ahead”.

While dazzling tension and hit as a result of not been appointed, Akpobi said: “We know appointment cannot get to everybody, but indirectly, governance can get to you”.

He charged young persons who may have the endorsement of the governor by giving them positions, “to use that position well so that in the nearest future people will look up to youths for positions”.
