Construction Of Airport Will Boost Zamfara State Economy, Improve Specurity – SSG

The proposed airport project construction by the  Zamfara State Government is meant to boost the economy and improve security in the state says the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Bala Bello Maru,
Maru made the assertion when he received  the delegation of the state chapter of Media Executives Forum who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Gusau to congratulate him over his new appointment.
The SSG said contrary to insinuations in some quarters that why embarking on airport construction as a priority, now, the government intended the airport project which is to be constructed by the foreign investors under Public Private Partnership (PPP) in order to have positive economic development and enhance security in the state.
“The airport when completed, would ease transportation system, as Zamfara has been left behind despite been identified as the most agrarian state from the Northern States and also blessed with abandoned mineral deposits”, he said.
He maintained that the state Governor,  Dr. Bello Mohammed has good plans for the development of the people and infrastructure in the and therefore needed to be supported by all for the overall development of the state.
“A modern transportation infrastructure like airport will facilitate trade, ease security risks associated with road transport and link the state with the global community”,  he said.
Maru who commended the Media Executives Forum, also charged them to ensure check and balance in the reportage of their outfit as the  bridge between government and the society.
Earlier, the leader of the Forum, Alhaji Aliyu Adamu Tsafe, the Director Gamji TV, said they were there to congratulate and also commend  the new government’s leadership style particularly it plans of tackling insecurity in the state.
Aliyu Tsafe on behalf of the media executives assured SSG that they would cooperate with government in order to provide positive advice for the development and progress of the state.
