Katsina State Government will partner with National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI) of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Shika, Zaria, for training programmes on Animal production and development in the state.
The training programme would be expected to cover women and youths for multiple productions particularly on the areas of Animal husbandry and poultry.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari gave the assurance when he received the executive officers of the institute led by its Executive Director, Professor CMA Lakfini on a thank you visit to the Governor in Katsina.
Governor Bello Masari said Katsina State Government would revive all grazing areas across across the state.
Consequently, he said Government would immediately sent officials of the State Ministry of Agriculture to meet with the Management of the Institute in that regard.
Governor Masari said Government would start with the Kabomo grazing area.pointing out that, “modern livestock techniques need to be taken to the rural communities to assist the Fulanis have multiple milk and beef production.”
He said with the diversification of federal government in Agriculture and Livestock NIPRI had a vital role to play in putting into practice their research work.
According to the Governor government would fully revive Agricultural sector considering its viability in improving socio-economic wellbeing of the populace.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari explained that, already some Veterinary Doctors from the State Ministry of Agriculture had been send on a training programme by the state government.
Earlier, the Executive Director of NIPRI,Shika,Zaria, Professor CMA Lakfini said the visit was to expressed their gratitude to the governor for the paper he presented at the Institute during its recently open day celebration.
Professor Lakfini reiterated the need for partnership with Katsina State government in organizing training programme on Livestock value claim for women and youths which was in consonance with the National mandate of the Institute.
According to him the proposed training programme was in line with Economic recovery and gross plan of the federal government.
Professor Lakfini presented a Photo Album containing pictures of the last NIPRI open day witnessed by Governor Aminu Bello Masari, some souvenirs and pamphlets as well as film show on the activities and achievements of the Institute.
