Zumunci Foundation Nigeria a non-governmental organization in its bid to bring succour to women and youths by using entrepreneurial skills, reduce poverty, conflict mitigation and promote social cohesion has urged the government to work with other NGOs in order to promote and strengthen democratic values in the interest of peace and unity of the country.
This statement was made by the chairman of the foundation Umar Babangida Abdul-Ra’uf, while presenting Ramadan relief/gift items to Al-Ihsan Charity Foundation a motherless home based in Nasarawa, Kaduna.
According to him, the only way to get youths into violence is by depriving them of basic incentives and like the popular saying, “the idle mind is the devil’s workshop and a hungry man is an angry man,” he quoted.
On her part, the chairperson of the motherless foundation, Hajiya Firdausi Yusuf Mohammed, while thanking Zumunci Foundation for the gesture wants government to do more, by ensuring that mothers and youths are put first in all its policies.
“We are grateful to this foundation, but, we want to NGOs to emulate this good gesture and help in alleviating the of mothers and children (youths).”
