The immediate past Chairman, Estate Surveyor and Valuers in Ondo State, ESV Pastor Gboyega Akerele has advised the Governor of the state, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to involve professionals in the implementation of of his projects.
Speaking with journalists in Akure the state capital, Pastor Akerele expressed disappointment that the execution process of road constructions and dualization in the state have not been transparent enough.
According to him, a localised job of that magnitude requires the involvement of professionals who reside in the state and pay their taxes to the state government.
While commending Governor Akeredolu for dualizing roads in major cities across the state, he however cautioned that those whose property were demolished be adequately compensated.
For the Governor to secure a second term in office, he urged him to embrace all stakeholders within the APC family saying a house divided against itself cannot stand.
“Even though he has embarked on a number of measures to keep the tempo like paying salaries of workers as at when due and doing infrastructures yet he needs to improve on his relationship with people by bringing them together,” he advised.
Commenting on the recent withdrawal of fire arms order by the Federal Government, he noted that people will always give negative interpretation to good intentions.
From the experience of kidnap victims, he said, it is the Fulanis that are mostly involved in the terrorism act across the country.
Federal Government, he said, “needs to checkmate the porous borders to stop illegal importation of firearms, and the most important thing to ask is where do the herds men get their ammunition?”
