The senior Pastor of Landmark International Baptist Church, Kaduna, Rev. Dr. Joe Onuche has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to initiate programmes that will convince Nigerians of his ability to move the country forward.

He noted that President Buhari has the privilege to proof Nigerians wrong that he means well for the country in his second term.

Speaking while marking the fifth anniversary of the Church in Kaduna, Rev. Dr. Ounche said that President Buhari has no reason to complain in his second term since according to him the APC-led administration is now on ground on how best to put the country in right footing.

He explained, “President  Buhari should in his second tenure proof to Nigerians that he is truly a nationalist with his style of leadership.

“Nigerians expect to see  a new Buhari who understands the terrain he is working and who and who he should work with a clear view of what he wants at the end of his tenure.

“Buhari should write his name in gold in the history of this country with how he handles the affairs of the country and how he carry every part of the country as he leads in his last laps in ruling Nigeria.

“I call on Nigerians to support the government of the day at all levels for us to succeed as a nation, we need to believe in our leaders and our leaders need to carry every section along for a better Nigeria.”

Rev. Onuche was worried about moves by the Federal Government to establish a Radio station solely for Fulanis and advised the President to avoid being divisive, but rather foster unity in the country.

As President, the Man of God added, he should see himself as a nationalist and a detribalised Nigerian.

The Cleric who lauded the Supreme Court judgment on Zamfara electoral logjam, also commended the nation’s judiciary for being fair while reminding the judiciary to always be seen the last hope for the common man.

He advised, “President Buhari and his team should always respect the rule of law, no matter who is involved for democracy to thrive.”
