Several books, stationery, computers and other property worth millions of naira were on Sunday night destroyed when the roof of the University of Ibadan Library building caved in during a heavy downpour.
New Nigerian learnt that it was confusion galore as workers at the bookshop on resuming work early sighted some of the books, the book shelves and other valuables in the bookshop floating on the water as the building was flooded,
The Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan, Professor Idowu Olayinka while inspecting the level of the damage at the bookshop lamented the losses arising from the heavy downpour.
Also speaking on the flooding of the bookshop, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bookshop, Mr. Agbola Olatunji Israel lamented the flooding saying, the estimate of the losses as a result of the heavy downpour could not be ascertained for now.
