Security Guard Slashes Colleague’s Throat With Knife During Night Duty

A security guard with the Lagos State Polytechnic Ikorodu is now in police custody in Lagos for allegedly killing his colleague while on night duty.
The suspect, identified as Cletus Williams was alleged to have slit the throat and chopped off the right wrist of the colleague named Okoro John with a knife.
According to report, the suspect committed the offence on 24th May, 2019 at about midnight in the school’s main campus in Ikorodu area of the state.
He was said to have been arrested by the Chief Security Officer of the school with the assistance of police operatives attached to  Shagamu road Police Station.
The image maker of the Lagos State  Police Command DSP Bala Elkana confirmed the incident and arrest of the suspect in a statement issued on Sunday.
Elkana said police detectives from the Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) are investigating the matter with a view to ascertain the motive behind the killing.
Disclosing that the knife used by the suspect was recovered at the scene, the police spokesperson added that the suspect will soon be charged to court for murder.
” On 24th May, 2019 at about 7.00am, Operatives of Shagamu road Police Station in collaboration with the Chief Security Officer of Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu arrested one Cletus Williams, a security guard with the polytechnic for killing his colleague, Okoro John while they were on night duty.
The suspect used a sharp knife to slash the throat of the victim and also chopped off his right wrist.
Homicide detectives from State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba are investigating the case to ascertain the motive behind the killing.
The knife used for the murder is recovered. Suspect will soon be charged to Court for murder”, Elkana stated.
