The Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) Yobe State branch has on Sunday organized a one-day lecture, where Islamic scholars from various places attended and made presentations on health benefits of fasting in Ramadan and beyond.
The secretary of the association said, the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) is created by Muslim Medical practitioners to help less privileged ones who are hospitalized but they don’t have the means to purchase drugs for their treatment than the association would purchase the drugs and give them free of charge.
According to the Secretary, they are taxing all members monthly from their salaries to ensure that they carryout the humanitarian assistance in various hospitals across the state adding that in all wards there is member of the association supervision patients that cannot afford to buy drugs prescribed by doctor than the association will purchase the drugs and give it to the patient free of charge to continue with the treatment.
Speaking at the event, Emir of Damaturu, Baba Shehu Hashim the II Ibn Umar Elkanemi who was represented by his Waziri called on the members of the association to maintain the tempo and urged Muslim Ummah especially those blessed by Allah to assist the association to perform the good deeds for the sake of Allah.
The event took place at the Emir’s Palace Jummat Mosque, Damaturu.
