We Are Committed To Kaduna Children Educational Development By Investing In Primary Education – el-Rufai

Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, on Friday said, they are committed to investing on primary education as  it serves as the foundation of a child’s educational development.

Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex who represented Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai,  made this known at the opening of a Two-Day Policy Retreat on Education held at Fifth Chukker Resorts in Kaduna.

According to him, the renovation of public schools, provision of chairs to the pupils rather than seating on the floor are issues that the state government is embarking on.

The government is ready to put in place all the necessary needs by improving the school environment with water and provision of school uniforms to its pupils to ensure they participate fully by attending their classes.

He admonished the 23 local government council  chairmen, to play their role in ensuring that  all children receive quality education in the area of their studies as government is ready to support them in all areas.

“They must offer all it takes to ensure that the children of the poor have access to basic education, adding that when primary education is faulty, a child’s secondary and tertiary education will be faulty.

He said the Local Government Reforms have a positive role play in the state, assuring them that the two days retreat will provide progress of the primary education in the state.

In a remark, Commissioner of Local Government Affairs, Professor Kabir Mato, noted that the low quality of education obtained in public primary schools is the reason Nigeria is producing unemployable graduates.

Mato said, “the focus of the retreat is “The State of Primary Basic Education in Kaduna State: Prospect and Challenges.

“It is basically as a result of low education at the primary level that is faulty, the state government  looked into the quality of teaching  staff of primary level which SUBEB embarked into exam to get qualified teachers,” he said.

He called on the local government chairmen to ensure that primary education is successfully managed through educational sector.

Mato, justified why Kaduna State is investing huge resources on teachers and infrastructure to ensure quality education for all in the state.

He urged stakeholders to make ways to meet up with all necessary requirements to move education sector forward.

Adding that, their visit to schools and moving around will enable them  see and hear for themselves the reality in various schools.

Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Barnabas  Bala Bantex, Deputy Governor-Elect, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe and other Government officials attended  the opening of the  2-Day  Policy Retreat on Primary Education.

Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex,  declared the Two-Day Policy Retreat on Education opened. While he proceeded to inspect the ongoing construction of blocks of classrooms located on a piece of land donated by Fifth Chucker Resyort.

The project is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Access Bank and Fifth Chucker.

The state of the art building will serve as a public primary school for communities around Mararaban Jos, in Igabi Local Government Area.
