The wife of Kaduna State Governor, Architect Hadiza Isma el-Rufai on Friday called on women to encourage their children to embark on entrepreneurship to be self employed.
She made this known at the hosting of Aunties, Friends and Relations who were invited to fast-breaking at her premises, Government House in Kaduna.
She said women should encourage their wards not to wait for white kola job but involve themselves in small businesses that will help them to be self reliant in future.
Adding that, “Not everyone is destined to attend tertiary institutions, some ended up at primary, secondary level, while others do not have the privilege to attend at all, I urge you all to advise your children to embark on small scale businesses,” she said.
Speaking on adult education, she said every woman should enroll.
“If you’re not educated how can you interact with your customers,” she said, while making references to the various NGO’s in the state who are working hard to educate women at their old age.
“Literacy is the greatest handicap you can have,” she said, adding that unless you are literate, you can’t access information from the internet, neither read books that will widen knowledge.
