“I really want to first of all appreciate God because it’s not only Reverend Smith that prayed for this beautiful weather, I personally prayed for it and He has answered our Prayer. Let’s appreciate God.”
These were the remarks by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel on Friday as he climbed the podium to speak at a one-day crusade organised by the state government to herald his second term administration in the state.
The event which took place at Uyo Township Stadium attracted cream of persons from all divides of socio-economic life in the state.
According to Governor Emmanuel, only uninspired persons in the state can say that God has not been good to the state since the past years but the spirit-filled will always arise to praise Him for His faithfulness and love.
“If someone can go around the State to solicit for Vote. Is it too much to also stand on the podium and thank God?
“Whatsoever you see today, is not about me, nor the Deputy Governor or the Speaker or anyone else. It’s about the soul of the State.
“What we are doing today is a Divine Command which we don’t have any right to disobey.
“Anyone who has a Spiritual eye will see that what we have done today is not Ordinary”, Governor Emmanuel emphasized.
The Governor also praised the Pastors and other groups from all divide who turned out enmasse to grace the event.
He noted the converge with such sea of worshippers, especially Pastors and Royal Fathers as the first ever in his life, an indication he added has pointed to more good things to come the state as the new sets to be inaugurated next week, May 29.
Governor Emmanuel prayed God to bless everyone and to lead the state to a greater heights in Jesus name.
New Nigerian in Uyo observed that public offices were directed to close by I pm against normal 4 pm official closing hour, to enable civil servants to attend the crusade which began by 4 pm.
The theme of the crusade was “Akwa Ibom Praise the Lord” Highlights at the event include praises to God while special prayers were offered for divine blessings, continued peace and growth is the state.
