Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad has lauded Supreme Court judgement that voided the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in state.
A statement signed by Director General (Press Affairs) office of the deputy governor, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau said the judgment is a pointer to the impartiality of the judiciary.
“This is a victory to democracy, the judgement has restore the confidence of Nigerians to the judiciary sector and this judgement is a work of truth against falsehood”, he said.
The deputy governor who is one of the eight APC governorship aspirants in the botched primates urged the people of the state to be law abiding and while celebrating the victory.
Wakkala congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate who came second during the March 12, governorship election, Alhaji Bello Mohammed Matawallen-Maradun for emerging as the Governor elect as declared by the court.
Also the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Zamfara state branch described the Supreme Court judgement as positive development to democracy.
The branch Chairman, Barrister Bello Idris Galadi said court as the last resort had done the right thing in the right direction to rescue democracy in the state and the country.
“This shows that by implication that rules of law, Justice and true democracy had started to emerged in the nation’s political system”, he said.
