Police operatives in Lagos have arrested three notorious bandits over alleged diversion of N23 million goods.
The suspects, identified as Sunday Ejike, 52, James Oja, 47, and Adesoji Olanrewaju were alleged to have diverted the goods meant for Abuja to Aba in Abia State for disposal.
Nabbed by operatives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the suspects according to report diverted the goods on 3rd May 2019 through Olanrewaju John contracted to convey the goods to Abuja.
Rather than delivered the 30 tons of FMCG Powder milk to the agreed location, it was gathered that Olanrewaju conspired with Sunday Ejike to divert the consignment to unknown destination.
Our correspondent leanrt that one Kobo Logistic Limited had on the 3rd of May 2019 employed the services of one Olanrewaju John to transport the goods to Abuja before the eventual diversion.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police Zubairu Muazu who made the disclosure Thursday while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarter, Ikeja said the goods were recovered in Aba, Abia State.
His words, ” The command’s Criminal Investigation Department arrested three suspects notorious for diverting and stealing company’s goods.
On 13th May, 2019 we received a petition from Kobo logistics limited that on 3rd of May 2019 the company employed the services of one Olanrewaju John to transport 30 tons of powder milk FMCG, located at No 13 Fatai Atere road Mushin Lagos to Abuja FCT but diverted the goods to unknown destination.
Three suspects, namely Adesoji Olanrewaju’m’ 43 years old, Sunday Ejike 52 years old and James Oja 47yrs were arrested in connection with the case. The stolen good were recovered at Aba, Abia State”.
