Niger Announces N1,513,650m As This Year’s Hajj Fares

A total of 3,946 seats have been allocated to Niger State for Muslim intending to perform this year’s pilgrimage by the National Hajj Commission for this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
The Acting Executive Secretary of Niger State Muslim Welfare Board, Umaru Makum Lapai disclosed that the state governor had offered to pay for the suit cases and uniforms for all those performing this year’s hajj exercise from the state.
He said the total amount fixed by the National Hajj Commission for this year’s hajj fares per intending pilgrim was N1,534,305.10k as 2019 hajj fares but added that governor Abubakar Sani Bello had offered to personally pay for all suit bags and uniforms for all persons performing this year’s pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Acting Executive Secretary of Muslim Welfare Board spoke at a meeting with all the Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers of the state at the board’s Secretariat in Minna.
Umaru Makum Lapai said for all those who had performed hajj exercise in the last four years, the Saudi Arabian authorities had imposed a levy of two thousand Saudi Riyal as fine for such category of persons.
He said all intending pilgrims were expected to pay the fares on, or before the end of the month of May, 2019.
The Acting Executive Secretary of the board cautioned all intending Muslim pilgrims to follow appropriate channels in paying the fares to avoid falling into bad hands.
