Kaduna Govt Pledges Continuous Support For Nigerian Prisons Service

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex on Wednesday assured the Nigeria Prisons Service, Zone ‘B’ in Kaduna State of their support to partner with them.

Bantex admonished them on their request towards the security of the state, while commending them for the awareness put in place to preach the message of peace and security to the people.

Adding that some in their custody are not criminals but are innocent and found themselves in prison.

He lamented that many are awaiting trails.

“We are ready to partner with you, the state government will support you to tackle the challenges of criminals,”  he said, while wishing them all the best in all their endeavours.

Speaking earlier, the new Assistant Controller General of Prisons, Alhaji Babangida Rabiu Mohammed,  in charge of Zone B headquarters office which comprises Kaduna, Kano,  Katsina and Jigawa State command, described Kaduna State as interesting.

According to him, he found the state very interesting with  lots of development, commending the state government for piloting the state, which has yielded direction to greater success.

He expressed concerns towards the achievements and transforming the state, “you are really taking Kaduna State to the next level”, he said.

According to him, the Nigeria Prisons Service, Zone  ‘B’ Kaduna State is ready to contribute to the greatness of the State.

Mohammed solicited for the state government’s support and assistance to help in clearing some of their security challenges which include the lack of Hilux vehicles for escort and others that will help them towards discharging their duties.
