The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Osun State Chapter on Tuesday  sympathized  with the State Chapter of the Okada Riders and other Traders’ Associations protesting  “outrageous levies in the state.”

The State PDP  Chairman, Honourable Olasoji Adagunodo, while responding to questions from reporters over the peaceful protests of the traders Associations declared that  “it is very unfortunate that the government of APC in the State allowed the tax situation to escalate, fester and degenerate to the level it is now.”

Honourable Adagunodo disclosed that PDP decided “to sympathize with the Okada and other traders Unionists because they didn’t vote for APC and Oyetola on September 22nd, 2018, their  mandate was  given to PDP and its candidate, Senator  Nurudeen  Ademola  Adeleke in  the election but was stolen.”

The Osun state PDP Chairman then  appealed to the Okada riders and other traders Associations members “not to cause any trouble in the state, rather, they should be patient and keep praying for PDP and Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke’s victory at the supreme court to get back his God-given mandate.”

According to the PDP Chairman, ” all the outrageous and obnoxious levies would be reviewed and all will be ameliorated and succour would come back, not only to the Okada riders and traders alone but to all sections of the state economy where people are paying multiple

He added that ” it is a good thing that the good people of Osun voted against APC and it’s Candidates because Aregbesola regime was BAD but to the surprise of Osun people this regime will be worse than that of its predecessor.”

“Our party, PDP is still assuring the people of Osun state that their sufferings will soon come to an end immediately Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke is sworn in as the validly elected governor of the State

It will be recalled that the Okada Riders and Traders’ Associations in Osun State on Tuesday took to the street and converged at the popular Olaiya junction in Osogbo in a peaceful demonstration to express their displeasure over the state government’s recent introduction of new levies and more taxes for the citizens in the state, including the Okada riders who said that life is already unbearable for them under the repressive regime of APC in the state.
