The newly elected Chairman, Sports Writers Association (SWAN), in Ondo State, Comrade Wahab Bankole has condoled with the people of Edo State, Lobi Stars Football Club, Nigeria, Coaches Association and other associates over or the sudden death of late Coach Solomon Ogbeide.
Comrade Bankole in a statement which he jointly signed with his Secretary, Comrade Segun Giwa said members of the Sports Writers family in the state received the news of Solomon Ogbeide’s death with shock.
The associationp, they said, Paid tribute to this great tactician who served the State Football Agency’s apex team, Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure meritoriously and recorded huge success for the team.
“No doubt, coach Ogbeide who was greatly admired by football followers will be missed and remembered for his good and highly commendable achievements with the Akure based football club”, the statement reads.
They also expressed the belief that the soccer loving people of the Sunshine State and indeed, Nigeria will not forget his contributions to football development.
“Our prayers and thoughts are with the families left behind by this God fearing and hardworking coach, as well as Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, where he worked as Technical Adviser until his death”.
In a related development, the management and the entire workforce of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) express its profound sadness and heartfelt condolences to the Family, Club and Associates of late coach Solomon Ogbeide.
The Media Officer of Sunshine stars FC, Comrade Chris OkunuwOkunuwsa said, ODSFA share the sense of grief and great loss of the Ogbeide family and wish to pay tribute to this great tactician who served the Agency’s leading team, Sunshine Stars (SSFC) greatly in two different spells.
“We have no doubt that Epa, as Mr Ogbeide is fondly called will always be remebered as one of the greatest coaches and achievers in the Nigerian game”, Okunuwa further said.
