Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Local Government Service Commission, Sir Valentine Attah has been suspended from office by the state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for allegedly recruiting staff into the service.
A statement signed by the secretary to the state government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem dated May 15, 2019 stated that Sir Attah recruited some persons into the unified local service commission of the state.
For that, the statement said Sir Attah is suspended from office with immediate effect pending when the committee to be set up to investigate his involvement will recommend otherwise.
In another development, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Sufficiency, Dr. Uduak Udoinyang has been relieved of his duties as Commissioner with immediate effect.
Although no reason is given for his removed from office but the commissioner for science and technology, Prof Nse Essien has been directed to take over the duties and functions of the sacked Commissioners office till further notice.
A statement by SSG Dr. Ekuweme thanked the sacked Commissioner, Dr. Udoinyang for his contributions to the state executive council.
