The provision of thermal cameras by Dangote Foundation and West African Health Organisation (WAHO) is an example of how private sector and regional organizations can collaborate with Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on health security.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) stated this in appreciation of High Resolution Thermal Cameras which WAHO provided to it in support for airport screening recently.
“Five years after Nigeria experienced an Ebola outbreak, the country has continued to build on lessons learned.
“On the 24th of April 2019, the West African Health Organisation (WAHO) donated a thermal camera to be used at the new terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
“This is part of a set of high resolution thermal cameras provided in three airports – Abuja, Enugu and Kano” for the health of Nigerians NCDC wrote.
The center pointed out that in addition to the thermal cameras provided by WAHO, the Dangote Foundation had provided similar equipment in the past, in response to the Ebola outbreak.
