An early morning accident involving a passenger train and a tricycle in Lagos has resulted in the death of all the four occupants of the tricycle.
Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred Tuesday around 6:45am, at Toyin in Iju Ishaga, a Lagos suburb.
New Nigerian was reliably informed that the Lagos bound train got involved in the accident shortly after it left Oke Aro.
According to witness, the tricycle carrying passengers had attempted to cross the railway when it got trapped and was eventually crushed by the Abule-Egba bound train.
It was further learnt that while other motorists and passersby halted to give way for the train sighted from afar, the tricyclist attempted a quick move but got trapped and was eventually ran over.
A witness said the remains of the crushed remains of the victims littered the track, causing panic among people around.
As at time of filing the report, emergency responders which was include operatives of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency ( LASEMA), the Police, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), the Civil Defence and Security Corp were already at the scene to salvage the remains of the victims.
