Kaduna Election Tribunal: el-Rufai Replies Ashiru’s Petition

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai speaking during the swearing-in of NYSC 2019 Batch A corps members at the permanent orientation camp on March 29, 2019.

In line with the petition against Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai  of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  and Honourable Isa Ashiru of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  a response was filed at the elections petition tribunal on Tuesday by the governor.

Hussaini Barma Gumi who is  a member in the Election Petitions  Tribunal committee on behalf of All Progressives Congress in an interview with the press at  the, High Court premises in Kaduna, said that they are in the tribunal  to file their reply to the petition of Isa Ashiru of PDP.

He explained, that it  was  imagination and dreams of alleged manipulations and cancellations of figures of the last general elections.

Speaking further, he said they were not there to quarrel but to file their  response.

“By right we have  14 days to file our response after going through the petitions which is too watery as there is nothing  to write home about.

“As you can see the confidence in us,  is just that it is mandatory by law to respond and I wish to be around at the court to uphold Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai as the duly elected Governor of the state, as it was declared on the 11th of March 2019 in the last general elections.

“We only pity the Honourable Judges  as they would spend months working on something that does not  profit,” he said.
