President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law, the new minimum wage of N30,000 per month.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang announced this on Thursday afternoon to State House corresponds at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He explained that the law covers all organisations, public and private, which have 25 persons and above in their pay roll.
According to the Presidential aide, the law provides for employees to take legal actions against defaulting employers with a view to compelling them to fully implement its provisions.
Enang also disclosed that the new legislation takes full effect from April 18, bring the day that it was assented to by the President.
