The Election Petition Tribunal to handle petitions arising from National and State Houses of Assembly elections in Niger state has been inaugurated.
Tribunal Chairman, Justice John Ugboji… disclosed at the inaugural sitting of the tribunal that the panel has three months to handle all the eight petitions entered at the tribunal by complainants.
He therefore asked for the understanding, cooperation and deligence by all counsels handling cases for their clients before the tribunal.
Justice John Ugboji advised against unnecessary delay, prolongation on matters and procrastination by Counsels.
He revealed that the election petition tribunal would hold sitting every day except on Sundays even as he gave the exact time the tribunal would start it’s business every day at 9:00am.
Justice John Ugboji assured that the tribunal would be fair to all in the discharge of its responsibilities responsibilities adding that all the eight petitions entered at the tribunal would be decided during the three months allotted for it.
