Ajimobi’s Aides, Govt Functionaries, APC Deputy Guber Candidate, Council Chairmen, Others Hospitalized Over Suspected Food Poisoning

No fewer than 60 persons including top Oyo State Government officials, royal fathers, running mate  to the All Progressives Congress. (APC) governorship candidate in the just concluded general elections, Mr.Samuel Eegunjobi were reportedly  hospitalized after eating the snacks purportedly  served at the inauguration  of excavators procured by the state government  last Friday

It was reliably gathered that the 60 people reportedly hospitalized included several aides to Governor Abiola. Ajimobi as well as serving  council chairmen and party supporters that witnessed the ceremony

According to sources, the chops were prepared and served at the event by a Lagos based caterer who has been patronized by the state government over the years

Sources said trouble started when one of the victims said to be a close aide to the governor was reportedly rushed to an undisclosed hospital 24 hours after taking the chops

It was learnt  that similar fate befall other dignitaries that attended the inauguration of the excavators as all of them were at various hospitals, diagnosed of food poisoning.

One of the affected aides to the governor while narrating her experience reportedly said she started experiencing stomach upset accompanied with dizziness and vomiting in the early hours of Saturday only to be rushed to the hospital when the situation was getting out of hands and that she was latter told that her other colleagues too had been hospitalized for the same ailment when she put a call through to some  of them to inform them of her health status

” I saw hell shortly after eating. I visited the toilet more than 15times  ‎and vomited about 6times between Friday evening and Saturday morning. I was later admitted at a hospital where I was given some pints of drips. My survival is by the Special grace of God ” one of the governor’s aides said

A council chairman from the Oke- Ogun zone of the state also narrated his experience  that when he began to feel some discomfort in his stomach he had initially thought that it was constipation until he stated vomiting and defecating at intervals  that was when he suspected that it might have been caused by food poisoning from the snacks.

The Special Adviser to  Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Media, Mr. Bolaji Tunji while reacting said there was no official report on the news making the round, saying, “where is the news of food poisoning coming from? There is no official report of any food poisoning.”
