ABU Zaria Matriculates 13,000 Students For 2018/2019 Academic Session

Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU), Zaria has matriculated 13.000 newly admitted students for the 2018/2019 academic session.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor  Ibrahim Garba  disclosed this at the matriculation ceremony held at the Mamman Kontagora Square.
He said 40.000 candidates applied for the admission but only 13.000 were successful.
Professor Ibrahim Garba said University education is normally an existing experience and the main purpose is to acquire knowledge and skills to prepare the students for a useful life and become a good citizens.
According to him, the processes of fulfilling these Noble objectives require peace, stability and a conducive environment.
He reminded them that the important challenge they will face is how to help themselves to maintain a peaceful, stable and cordial atmosphere that is conducive for both teaching, learning and good character building.
“A student who could not complete his/her programme of study beyond the maximum period  or due to poor performance or unacceptable behavior is compelled by regulations to withdraw from the programme of the University”.
The Vice Chancellor said the university has put everything in place for a successful academic session.
