Volleyball: Nigeria Set For World FIVB Beach Volleyball In Qatar

Plans have been concluded by Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), to make Nigeria’s male beach volleyball team participate at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour holding in Qatar between 12th-15th March 2019.
In a release signed by the Federation’s Media Publicity Officer, Kehinde Lamidi, Team Nigeria is the only team from Africa that will be  joining other thirty six (36) countries in the main draw & 13 countries in the qualification draw in the four-day beach volleyball tournament.
The Team Nigeria made the Qatar male four star international beach volleyball tour through a wild card in preparation for ANOC Games in America this year.
Speaking on the tournament, the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation who also doubles as the chairman of Beach Volleyball Commission, Engineer Musa Nimrod appreciated an FIVB board member, Engineer Habu Gumel for facilitating Nigeria’s  participation.
He charged the team to make Nigeria and continent proud by proofing their ranking in the continent as one of the best.
While coach of the team, Francis Imoudu who explained that  Nigeria has never participated in an FIVB beach tour, promised to make impact at the tournament.
“This is the first time & we are the only African team in an entry of over forty countries. What a privilege for the boys to showcase the stuff they are made of.”
Coach Imoudu assured Nigerian.
The players, Ogunshina Obayemi and Hilary Simon with coach Imoudu are expected to leave the shores of Nigeria by Qatar Airline on Monday,11th of March for the tournament.
