Buhari’s Victory: Kaduna Police Warns Supporters Against Breaching Laws While Celebrating

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Kaduna Command has warned those celebrating the victory of president Muhammadu Buhari at the 2019 polls as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to apply decorum as any found breaching the laws of the land would be arrested.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, DSP Yakubu A. Sabo, made available on Wednesday February 27, 2019.

“Members of the public therefore advised to remain calm and not to do anything that violates the extant laws of the country as the Police in collaboration with other security agencies will arrest any person or group of persons found wanting in this regard.

“CP Ahmad Abdurrahman reassures the good people of the State that, the Police and other security agencies are out to maintain law and order,” it stated.

The Kaduna State Police Command called on the good people of Kaduna State who are celebrating the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR in the just concluded 2019 General Elections held on Saturday 23rd February 2019, to moderate and celebrate with decorum.

“The Command has observed with dismay the reckless way motorists and motorcyclists are driving on highways and public places in the name of celebration which is causing fatal vehicle accidents.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Ahmad Abdurrahman mnim, mcj, mcpss therefore warns that, Parents and Community leaders should talk to their children/wards to desist from such reckless celebrations,” it added.

The Command therefore, enjoined members of the public to cooperate with the security agencies in the State to serve them better.
