Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of Saturday’s Senatorial election for the Zamfara West Senatorial zone.
Announcing the results at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) zonal office in Tatala-Mafara Monday evening, the Returning Officer, Prof. Lawal Mayanchi, said Yari of the APC scored 153,626 votes, to defeat his closest rival Alhaji Lawal Hassan of the PDP who scored 69,293 votes.
With this victory, Yari will replace the incumbent Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima, the first civilian governor and three term Senator of the zone.
“Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar of All Progressives Congress (APC) have been satisfied the requirements and scored the highest votes is hereby declared winner of the election” Prof. Mayanchi stated
Governor Abdulazeez Yari scored 153,626 against the PDP candidate who scored 69,293 votes
When contacted about the victory, Gov Yari expressed gratitude and appreciation for the Victory and vowed to continue with his good job in tackling National issues as well as excellent representation at the Red Chamber
Yari who was physically seen in glad mood thanked people of his constituency and the State at large for voting APC in Presidential and National Assembly elections
Adding that, he will do the needful to justify the trust reposed in him and urged the state populace to continue supporting APC as it remain the only Party with masses at heart
Noting that, in less than 24 hours of giving APC chance to join the race, Zamfara State populace.
