Zamfara State new Commissioner of Police, Celestine Okoye has reiterated his commitment to collaborate with the media in the fight against crimes in the state.
The Police Commissioner have the assurance in his interaction with working journalists in the state at the Command’s headquarters, Gusau on assumption of duty as the new police helmsman in the state.
Okoye described the Press as the link bridge between the people and authorities and therefore charged journalists to ensure that they are fair and objective in their reportages.
“I urge you to always be just by ensuring balance reportage of happenings by crosschecking facts from the command to avoid misperception”, he said
Okoye said adequate security has been put in place for the general elections as adequate security has been mobilized to guarantee safety of the electorates, INEC election materials.
“The police will continue to remain apolitical and provide adequate security coverage in all the 14 LGAs of the state, so that the state can witness the most peaceful election in its history”, he said.
The commissioner advise the people to remain law abiding during and after the general elections.
