A community in Lafia Local Government Area, Barki Abdullahi (B.A.D) has declined to accept a refreshment package from Honourable Labaran Maku at a campaign rally, saying that they want the Governor-to-be to beef up the security of the state when he emerges at the forthcoming election.
The people, through their leaders, posited that their major challenge was insecurity, urging him to tackle it immediately when elected; promising to hold him accountable in line with his oath of office and duties, warning against betrayal.
Maku, gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was at the community to canvassed for supports and votes ahead of the forthcoming general polls.
Hundreds of people predominantly youth and women trooped out to receive the opposition leader and his entourage.
Addressing the crowd of supporters, Maku commended them for their continuous support and solidarity to the liberation movement.
He urged them to remain vigilant and steadfast, noting that all hands must be on deck to rescue the state from its current socioeconomic woes.
Top on his agenda among others is the security of lives and property, vowing to return peace at all costs if elected.
He also vowed that in every of his decision, interest of the people will come first.
Speaking, youth and women leaders commended Maku for his perseverance, stating that he was the only leader who stood with them during their most turbulent moments.
They prayed God to bless him and grant the party victory on March 02 elections.
