About 90,000 additional Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) are expected to be received from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by eligible voters in Zamfara State before the 2019 elections.
This was disclosed by the Chairman, Zamfara State Voter Education Committee, Alhaji Sanusi Garba Rikiji at a press conference in Gusau on Monday.
Rikiji who is also the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly said the feat was achieved based  on the efforts made by the state government in collaboration with the INEC office in this state.

“You know before, we had 63,000 unclaimed PVCs, but as I am speaking to you now, only 11,000 unclaimed PVCs, exist, all the 52,000 PVCs have been collected by our people”, he said.

Rikiji called on the media and other stakeholders to continue to educate the people about the importance of getting their PVCs as it is the power they have to choose their leaders in 2019 and subsequent elections.
The committee’s chairman Publicity Sub Committee and also the State Chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Lawal Muhammad Liman urged those who have not register to do so before the closing date.
“You know the INEC has fixed August 17, 2018 to close the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Exercise, we are calling on our people who have not register, to visit the INEC office nearest to them and register”, he said.
