Oyo State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Wasiu Adeleke on Thursday declared that the party is prepared to salvage the state from total collapse.
Honourable Adeleke who stated this while speaking at a meeting with the local governments Secretaries and youth leaders of 33 local governments of the state said to achieve this, officials of the party at the wards, local government and state levels should preach and work for the unity of the party.
The Secretary pointed out that PDP as presently constituted belongs to everyone and to no one, contrary to the act of impunity and lack of respect for the rule of law and constitutionalism by a few members of Ido local government officials who claimed to have suspended duly elected Ido Local government Chairman recently.
According to the Oyo state PDP Secretary, “the suspension of Ido Local government Chairman, Alhaji Ayuba Olabanji is null and void.” , saying, ” PDP as a party has Processes and Procedures as laid out by the constitution of the party before any important verdict could be taken”.
“Gone are the days of impunity in the Party anyone who engages in it will be corrected according to the constitution of the party. As far as Oyo state PDP is concerned Alhaji Ayuba Olabanji remains party Chairman in Ido Local government’ said the state party Secretary shortly after the meeting.”he said.
Honourable Adeleke added that the people of Oyo state are clamouring for the return of the party to power in 2019 particularly now that the ruling APC has destroyed the very fundamental tool for human growth and development which is Education in the state as all Oyo State owned higher institutions staff are owed several months of salaries which necessitated some of them running skeletal services while others have gone on indefinite strike.
