As various Political parties are working round the clock to meet the INEC dead line on submission of list of candidates, a House of Representatives aspirant in Akure South/North Federal Constituency of Ondo State in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Otunba Mayokun Alade LAF,  has called on the electoral body that there was no primary in the area.
Alade LAF while speaking with journalists recently in Akure, said ,“There was no election in Akure South and North Federal Constituency.

According to him, all  aspirants have decided to come together to have a united voice like coalition to have a common goals to state categorically that some government apparatus are trying to compromise the election.

“We had a meeting with the Secretary to the state government, the apex body in the government and they never told us that we are going to have any consensus candidates, we spent millions of naira, we went for the screening. This is a progressive party but I did not see any progression in the party.

The aspirant enjoined all stakeholders in the state to come together for APC candidates in order to win the forthcoming general elections at the state and national level.

LAF however, reaffirmed his commitment and dedication to the All Progressives Congress and declared his loyalty to the leadership of the Party at the State and National levels.

“Thugs were shooting sporadically at Iju/Itaogbolu on the day of election, in Akure there was no election at all and we are not going to agree to any imposition. The leadership of the party in Akure are trying to impose aspirants on people. They must come together and explain exactly where we are going before the general elections.

He therefore called for a fresh conduct of a primary in Ondo State, insisting that, ” if there was no new election that means APC will not have candidates in the forthcoming general election. Am going to stand with APC, but it is better will stay together to fight a common course, what we are asking for is free and fair primary”, he added.
