Former governor of Oyo State and National leader of Accord Party, Senator Rashidi Ladoja on Tuesday declared that Nigeria now need alternative political platform to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator Ladoja stated this while speaking at the inauguration of the Oyo State and Local Government Executives of Accord Party held at the party secretariat in Ibadan.
The former governor maintained that as at present, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are not in the best of shape needed for the nation’s growing democracy.
He stressed that in the interest of the nation’s democracy, the time has come for Accord Party and others stakeholders to provide a credible alternative platform to the PDP and APC.
To achieve this, Senator Ladoja disclosed that Accord Party is ready to lead the coalition to mop up all opposition parties into a big third force political platform.
The Accord National leader pointed out that he and others are now working hard to bring about this and consequently bring about “a Nigeria of their dream, a land of abundant life for the citizenry where the basic necessities of life like water, electricity, good roads would not be negotiable”.
While urging Oyo Accord new executives to be fair to all councillorship and chairmanship aspirants as well as ensuring that only people’s choices emerge, Senator Ladoja however
called on the aggrieved members to return to the party to support the efforts of the leaders and the party officers to win the 2019 election beyond reasonable doubt.
He stressed that there was no basis for a parallel state congress in the state when such was not experienced at the ward and council congresses.
