Frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State and former governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has disclosed that he is not ready to leave the ruling APC for any other political party.
Otunba Alao-Akala said this on Tuesday while receiving two chieftains of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, Engineer Seyi Makinde and Alhaji Bisi Olopeniyan at his Awosika Residence in Ibadan. to purportedly invite him back and lead the party with his wealth of experience.
The APC governorship aspirant according to a statement issued by the Head of New Media and Public Affairs, Mr Jeremiah Akande made available to newsmen in Ibadan, emphasized that he is loyal and fully committed to the ruling All Progressives Congress at both the state and National levels and as such there was no basis for him to dump the party.
Otunba Alao-Akala pointed out that he has no reason whatsoever to leave ” APC as he enjoys a peaceful and harmonious working relationship with the leadership of the party right from the wards up to the National level hence he will not be able to honour the invitation extended to him.”
The APC governorship aspirant lauded the two prominent PDP leaders in Oyo state “for the gesture extended to him by the Leadership of the party at various levels and the confidence reposed in him.”
Otunba Alao-Akala while thanking the PDP leaders for the visit however urged them to join him in The All Progressives Congress and promised them a level playing ground to operate politically.
New Nigerian gathered that the visit was to intimate Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala of the leadership vacuum that has existed within the rank of the PDP in Oyo state with the planned exit of High Chief . Rashidi Ladoja from the PDP and to once again invite His Excellency, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala to come and Lead the party with his wealth of experience.
It was reliably learnt that the PDP leaders during the visit also brought good tidings from the National Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party and expressed the readiness of the National Working Committee of the PDP to work with Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala.
