2019: Gundiri Declares Intention To Contest Adamawa Guber Under APC

As political activities pick up ahead of the 2019 election, a frontline politician, Engineer Markus Gundiri, has formally declared his intention to run for the  governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Adamawa State.

Gundiri, a onetime gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is to contest against the incumbent Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindow in the primaries.

During his official declaration on Tuesday at the party’s secretariat in Yola, he stated that he is in the race for the development of his people and state.

According to him, he will mobilize investors for the development of the state, adding that the youth will be given world class education to brighten their chances in life.

Speaking on the farmers/herdsmen clashes, tearing the state apart, Gundiri said it is unfortunate, stressing on the need for peaceful coexistence for the state to move ahead.

Earlier, the Director General, Gundiri Campaign Organization, expressed gratitude for the reception given to them, saying they want to contribute their quota for the development of the state.

Responding, Mr Samaila Thaddeus, state vice chairman of the APC said the party believes in justice to all candidates, maintaining that all would be given a level playing ground.

Thaddeus, who represented the state party chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, said man has plans, but, only God knows the heart.
