Adamawa State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Comrade Ahmad Sajoh has described a media report that Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla has concluded plans to drop his Deputy Governor, Mr. Martins Babale for a Muslim candidate ahead of the 2019 Elections as a blatant lie.
Sajoh, who was speaking at a press conference on Tuesday in Yola said such misleading information was meant to blackmail and intimidate the state government.
The Commissioner disclosed that such lies are been peddled by fiction writers and mischief makers with the sole aim of causing confusion in the state.
“We are aware that some politicians in the state, who have lost political relevance have resorted to using ethnicity and religion to cause confusion in the run-up to the 2019 elections’’, he stated.
According to him, these group are prepared to go to any length to score cheap political points, adding that recently, these group succeeded in hijacking a peaceful processing organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria in Adamawa and now this cheap blackmail to achieve their political goals.
Sajoh however maintained that Bindow remains resolute and focused in fulfilling their mandate.
He therefore, urged the public to disregard the publication noting that the Bindow-led administration is beyond intimidation.
“We are still delivering on our mandate, no amount of blackmail, intimidation or the use of ethnicity chauvinism and religious bigotry, political jingoism or Agbero-journalism will derail us, let those who believe they have what to tell the electorate in 2019 step forward and face us in the election using issues and achievements as factors that determine our relative electoral fortunes”. The Commissioner stated.
