Adamawa State Government has pledged to support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar if he declares his intention to run for the presidency come 2019.

The Chief of staff Government House, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abba Jimeta, made the declaration, Thursday when Governor Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindow  flagged-off the construction of Girei-Wuro Bokki road.

According to him, the entire Adamawa State Government is solidly behind the former Vice President wherever he (Atiku) goes, from the Governor to the Deputy governor, the Secretary to the State Government, the Commissioners, the Special Advisers and Special Assistant, Political appointees and members of the State House of of Assembly.

Abba Jimeta, who spoke in Hausa maintained that there is nothing Atiku has not done for the state since the enthronement of  democracy in the country. He has built first class  primary, secondary and University for the state.

“Adamawa state as a government has nothing to pay him back than to support all his political ambitions and to give him our fullest support if he declares to run for any political  office in the land” he stated.

Governor Bindow while flagging off the road, praised president Mohammadu Buhari for restoring peace in the North-East.

He stated that if not for the absolute peace, his government will not be flagging off road constructions and other projects.

Bindow however did not comment on the political ambition of the former Vice president, but rather called for total support of the people to the federal government to ensure complete atmosphere of peace in the state.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who was present at the ceremony, described Governor Muhammdu Jibrilla as the best governor Adamawa has ever produced.
